Recife holds the Safe Travels international seal
Since July 2021, Recife has been recognized as a safe tourist destination, with the Safe Travels Seal, from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), endorsed by the World Tourism Organization. The certification was created by the WTTC to give more confidence to travelers and boost tourism.
The seals are aimed at popular destinations globally and that comply with the protocols that safely guarantee tourism. The travel protocols announced by the WTTC were prepared following the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the International Airports Council. (ACI) and the Cruise Liner International Association (CLIA) to ensure industry-wide alignment.
